Frontier Co-op Organic Licorice Root, Cut & Sifted, has a naturally sweet, earthy flavor that makes it a popular base for herbal tea blends.
Key features
- Cut & sifted dried licorice root
- Organic
- Bulk sizes: 2 oz, 4 oz, 8 oz or 16 oz
How to use
Simmer about a teaspoon in a cup of water for 10 to 15 minutes, then strain. A small amount adds natural sweetness to other herbal blends, especially with ginger, cinnamon or mint. Licorice is not recommended for long-term daily use or for people with high blood pressure. If pregnant, nursing, taking medication or managing a health condition, check with your healthcare practitioner first and follow the package cautions.
Good to know
- Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) gets its sweetness from compounds that taste many times sweeter than sugar.
