NOW Foods Dextrose Corn Sugar Powder is pure dextrose made from non-GMO corn, part of NOW's Real Food pantry line. Dextrose is simply another name for glucose, the sugar your body uses for quick energy.
It has a fine texture and is less sweet than table sugar, so bakers use it to tweak texture and browning, home brewers use it for priming, and active people mix it into drinks before, during or after a workout. NOW notes you can use about 1.3 parts dextrose for every 1 part table sugar.
The 2 lb bag is Non-GMO Project Verified, vegan, kosher and gluten-free. A serving is 2½ teaspoons (8 g).
